Apart from the preinstalled players, MX Player is the most common movie and MPEG4 player for Android. When watching movies on an Android smartphone, the player provides more power and functionality to its users. Simply put, this video player has a greater degree of versatility than VLC or any other available video player.
MX Player Pro is compatible with nearly all common codecs and video formats, including AVI, DIVX, FLV, MKV, MOV, MP4, MPEG, WEBM, WMV, and XVID. If you attempt to play an incompatible file, MX Player will prompt you to instal a free codec pack, which will almost always resolve the issue.

Features of MX Player Pro
Playback of network streams
MX Player is capable of streaming video files over the internet, such as from cloud storage, as long as the direct URL is available. It cannot stream from sites such as YouTube without resorting to a great deal of complex trickery (not worth the effort when you can just use the YouTube app).
Resuming playback
If you close the app or pause playback in the middle of a video and then reopen it later, MX Player can resume where it left off — or it can begin again from the beginning. It will inquire as to which you prefer.
Playback of audio in the background
Enable this setting, and MX Player will continue to play your video even if you minimise the app and switch to another task, allowing you to listen while you respond to a text message or conduct a web search.
Children’s Lock mode
Makes it impossible to minimise the app, which is great for playing videos for your children but prevents them from opening other apps or making calls.

What people have to say on MX Player Pro app?
Your recent update has brought a lot of positive changes to the UI. The UI is a lot cleaner now and functionalities are easily accessible Keep up the good work.

I’ve always preferred MX Player, it’s one of the first apps I was willing to pay to get the pro version of. I’ve never really had any issues with it. I works so well. However, I don’t at all like the new UI. It was so awkward for me I had to roll back to the last version. I would like the option to not use the updated interface, until then I don’t think I will be updating. Still a great app though.
